Your home needs regular care. Your home needs regular care. Most homeowners want to stay on top of it. They just are not always sure what to do, when to do it, or how to do it safely.
The Home Maintenance Masterclass is a one year, four visit program where we complete your required home maintenance together. I guide the process, perform the work with you, and teach you exactly how your home’s systems should be maintained.
By the end of the year, you have a fully completed Home Manual and the confidence to handle routine maintenance correctly on your own.
This is hands-on education combined with real work.
How It Works
1. Four Quarterly Visits
We meet once per season. Each visit focuses on the maintenance appropriate for that time of year.
Examples include:
- HVAC filter replacement and system checks
- Water heater inspection and flushing when appropriate
- Exterior drainage and gutter evaluation
- Stair and railing safety checks
- Smoke and CO detector testing
- Seasonal shut off and startup procedures
- Visual plumbing and electrical inspections
All systems identified in your New Homeowner Orientation are included.
What Happens During the Visit
This is a personalized, one hour, in person walkthrough of the home.
Together we:
- Review how the home’s systems work
- Locate and label critical shut offs
- Discuss maintenance priorities
- Answer questions in plain, non technical language
- Talk through upgrades or future renovation ideas
We also discuss whether this is a starter home or a long term home, because that helps shape the right maintenance and improvement plan from the beginning.
2. We Do The Work Together
This is not a lecture. It is not a checklist handed to you.
You will:
- Learn where everything is
- Practice the correct procedures
- Understand what is normal versus concerning
- Ask questions in real time
You can participate as much or as little as you like. Some homeowners prefer to watch and learn. Others want to turn every screwdriver. Both approaches are welcome.
3. Your Home Manual Is Built As We Go
At each visit, your Home Manual is updated with:
- Date of service-Work completed
- Photos when helpful
- Notes on system condition
- Upcoming recommended service
By the end of the year, you have a complete maintenance record and a personalized reference guide tailored to your specific home.

Our Origin Story
JP Handywoman was inspired by my own difficulties tracking the required maintenance tasks for our JP home.
Despite over 10 years of work in construction, I was failing at maintaining my home.
There were simply too many tasks, each with a different recommended maintenance schedule, to keep track of.
I created a tool to keep track of all the tasks and easily run a report of all past-due and upcoming tasks.
JP Handywoman’s mission is enable busy homeowners to focus on their lives, not their home’s to-do list, with confidence that their home is properly maintained and nothing is falling through the cracks.
